Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern the hire and use of Lufuno Main Hall, Dakalo Glass Venue, Tshedza Venue and any associated facilities at Muano House, trading as Muano Functions Venue ("Muano", "we", "us", "our"), located at 28 Boland Road, Sonnedal, Honeydew, Johannesburg. By submitting a booking enquiry or signing a booking confirmation with us, you ("the Client") agree to these Terms.

1. Bookings & Reservations

A date is only considered provisionally held once an enquiry has been acknowledged by our team, and is only confirmed once a signed booking form and non-refundable booking deposit have been received. Provisional holds may be released without notice if a deposit is not received within the agreed timeframe.

2. Payment Terms

  • A booking deposit is required to secure your selected venue and date.
  • The outstanding balance is due in full no later than 7 days before the event date.
  • A refundable damages deposit may be required for certain bookings and will be refunded within 7 working days after the event, subject to a post-event venue inspection.
  • All prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) and are valid for the period stated in your quotation.

3. Cancellations & Postponements

Booking deposits are non-refundable. Cancellations made more than 60 days before the event date will not incur further charges beyond the deposit. Cancellations made within 60 days of the event may be liable for a percentage of the total venue fee, as set out in your booking confirmation. We will always try to accommodate a single date change, subject to availability, where reasonable notice is given.

4. Venue Use & Guest Conduct

  • Guest numbers may not exceed the maximum capacity stated for the booked venue.
  • The Client is responsible for the conduct of their guests and any suppliers they engage.
  • Open flames, fireworks, confetti cannons, sky lanterns and similar items require prior written approval.
  • Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas.
  • Amplified music and entertainment must end by 23:00, out of respect for neighbouring properties. See Section 5, Operating Hours, for full details.

5. Operating Hours

Our venue is available for hire from 10:00 to 23:00.

  • Venue hire is strictly between 10:00 and 23:00.
  • All guests, clients, suppliers, and service providers must vacate the venue by 23:00.
  • Any additional time is subject to prior approval and may incur an additional charge.

6. Catering Policy

Muano Functions Venue is not a self-catering venue.

  • We proudly provide professional in-house catering for all events.
  • Guests may not bring their own food without prior written approval from Muano Functions Venue.
  • Exceptions may be considered for guests with specific dietary requirements, food allergies, religious, or medical dietary needs. These requests must be discussed with our team and approved before the event.
  • Please note that we do not offer Halal catering.

7. Décor & Entertainment

All décor is professionally provided and managed by Muano Functions Venue to ensure a consistent, high-quality event experience, outside décor suppliers are not permitted. Entertainment is provided through our carefully selected partner DJs, who are contracted with Muano Functions Venue, each DJ supplies their own professional sound equipment to ensure exceptional audio quality. Any structural alterations, nailing, screwing or adhesive use on venue fixtures and finishes is not permitted without prior approval.

8. Liability & Damages

The Client is liable for any damage caused to the venue, fixtures, fittings or grounds by their guests, vendors or contractors during the hire period, beyond reasonable wear and tear. Muano Functions Venue is not liable for loss, theft or damage to personal property brought onto the premises by the Client or their guests. Clients are encouraged to arrange their own event insurance for high-value items, gifts and equipment.

9. Force Majeure

Neither party shall be liable for any failure or delay in performance under these Terms resulting from circumstances beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather, load shedding, civil disruption or government regulation. Where an event is affected, we will work in good faith with the Client to find a suitable alternative date.

10. Photography & Marketing

Muano Functions Venue may photograph venue setups for our own marketing purposes. We will not use images that clearly identify guests or include personal event details without separate consent. Clients who prefer that no photography of their event be used for marketing purposes may opt out in writing prior to the event.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of your signed booking confirmation will apply to your event.
